With
over 400 engagements since the winners were announced at the 2009
Cliburn Competition, the six finalists have established their
presence on the international music scene. In addition to major
debuts in the music capitals of the world, these young artists have
reached audiences in small and rural communities, taught master
classes to aspiring pianists, and been broadcast by radio and TV
stations around the world.
Co-gold Medalist Nobuyuki Tsujii--or Nobu, as he is affectionately known--has performed at the Aspen and Ravinia Festivals, on tour with the Takács Quartet and the BBC Philharmonic with Maestro Yutaka Sado, and made his London debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Ashkenazy. His Cliburn tour was topped off with an acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall.
Co-gold Medalist Haochen Zhang also performed major engagements in his three years with the Cliburn, making appearances with the San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, and Israel Philharmonic. He traveled across the United States, Europe, and Asia, making successful recital debuts with La Jolla Music Society, Celebrity Series of Boston, Spivey Hall, Kravis Center, and Louvre, among others.

She also made noted debuts with the Pacific Symphony, Utah Symphony, and in the inaugural season of The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana. She capped off her three years of touring with the Cliburn in an acclaimed appearance at Carnegie Hall with Clara-Jumi Kang winner of the 2010 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
