Annual Gala

Annual Gala

The Cliburn has hosted a variety of fundraising events to support the Foundation's programs and operations since 1961. The first, a benefit concert featuring a recital by Van Cliburn, was held on March 27 of that year and raised the additional funds needed to support the First Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Since then, the Cliburn has held annual Gala fundraisers that, thanks to the generous support patrons like you, continue to sustain the Foundation's many programs. Featuring engaging themes and lively entertainment, the annual Gala is hosted at a distinctly Fort Worth venue every year, highlighting the Foundation's commitment and deep ties to the local community.

The Van Cliburn Foundation Benefit Gala provides important operating revenue that helps support the core programs of the Cliburn-expanding children's knowledge of the arts through

educational initiatives such as Musical Awakenings®, nurturing the careers of the six Van Cliburn International Piano Competition finalists, presenting the annual Cliburn Concerts series, and producing the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs™.

Galas are held in the three years between the Van Cliburn International Piano Competitions and they contribute approximately 30 percent of the Cliburn's unearned revenue in those years, providing important operating revenue that allows the Cliburn to function day to day and produce the high quality programs to which our patrons are accustomed.

Save the date and join us for our next gala on March 1, 2014.
