Kunz, Wu and Dvorak too
I caught up this morning with some of my co-blogger comments about balance between the piano and the Tackacs Quartet. The balance in the hall is natural…the difference has to do with the pianists. Kunz and Wu played the same Hamburg, but Kunz played the piece as if it were a concerto, whereas Wu blended softly in the background until the music gave her the spotlight. To be continued…

I wish now that Haocheng would be playing the Pictures. Kim has moments of magic but many places where the playing is a little pedestrian and straightforward. Oh, how every note would have divine inspiration in the hands of that 19 year old. He is truly a prodigy and we are all so very fortunate to share Haocheng’s unique and unusual talent!
