It’s over!
Ok, just a quick note before running back to Bass Hall for the awards.
Tsujii recital: Somewhat limited Beethoven, good Chopin, interesting Liszt that evokes an improvisation around a campfire, instead of the firework we normally hear.
Zhang concerto: dry, calculated, text-booked perfect, but text-book interesting as well.
Wu concerto: elegant, polished, but not going to “11″.

“Improvisation around a campfire” well, that’s interesting description!

These are my own choices (not predictions):
1) Tsujii
2) Bozhanov
3) Zhang
4) Wu
5) Son
6) Vacatello
Discretionary Award = Deljavan
Though others might disagree with my conclusions, I judge only on musical talent and level of current achievement, as evidenced by audio. Visuals (such as facial expressions, mannerisms, etc.) were not a consideration.

I am the happiest woman in the music world. It does not get better than this.
