Meet the Big Six Volunteers

The Fourteenth Competition is off and running with the Big Six at the helm! These six chairmen oversee all aspects of the Competition and a 1,200-person volunteer force. Without this unique structure and the support of these special people, it would not be possible to produce a competition of this caliber.

First prize increased for Cliburn Competition

In honor of the Van Cliburn Foundation's 50th Anniversary, the Cliburn has increased the first prize amount for the Cliburn Competition to $50,000 and included a silver trophy to be named the Van Cliburn Winner's Cup.

NEA Media Project Grant

The Van Cliburn Foundation is honored to be one of 78 nonprofit organizations in the United States to be recommended for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in their 2012 Arts in Media grant cycle. The Cliburn is among the 25 percent recommended for funding from the 329 eligible applications.
