Is my gift tax-deductible?
The Van Cliburn Foundation has a tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Code. The Cliburn is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The IRS requires that the Fair Market Value of certain benefits be subtracted from the amount of your gift on your tax return. You may waive these benefits by notifying us at donations@cliburn.org.

Does my small amount help?
Gifts of any size make a difference! The cumulative effect of many small gifts can be significant in helping the needs of the Cliburn. Individual giving makes up 58 percent of total giving to the Cliburn.

What if I want to remain anonymous?
Please let us know if you would like to remain anonymous, and we will adjust our records so that your name will not appear in any Cliburn listings.

Will I receive a thank-you note for my gift?
Yes. The Development Office will acknowledge donations as soon as possible. If you make an online donation, you will receive an immediate confirmation and thank-you message.

How do I make a gift to the Van Cliburn Endowment Trust?
The Van Cliburn Endowment Trust was established to perpetuate the legacy of the Van Cliburn Foundation and its programs. When making your gift either online or through the mail, please let us know that you would like to designate it to the Van Cliburn Endowment Trust. Contributions from planned gifts are automatically designated for the Van Cliburn Endowment Trust.
