Zhang Zuo began her piano studies early in Germany and returned to China at age six to attend the Shenzhen Arts School. Actively performing since the age of ten, she has appeared with the Beijing Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Lübeck Symphony, and Shanghai Philharmonic, and was featured as an outstanding young artist on two recordings issued by the Chinese Musicians Association. Ms. Zuo counts among her awards first prize in the 2006 International Piano Concerto Competition in China and the prize for excellent performance by a pianist under twenty-one at the 2005 International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. In 2006, she was admitted on full scholarship to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
