Thanks to a grant from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation, the Cliburn is taking nine programs into the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) in the 2012-2013 school year. On January 28, 2013, the Cliburn welcomed Bernadette Nutall, DISD Trustee, to the Musical Awakenings® program "Building Music" that was provided to students at J.P. Stark Elementary School. Lynette Howard, principal, and Audra Sanders, music teacher, were gracious hosts. The students were receptive and enjoyed answering the questions posed to them and volunteering to demonstrate walking slowly or quickly. Cliburn Board Member Greg Davis was also in attendance.
