FORT WORTH, TEXAS, February 25, 2010 - Cellist Yo-Yo Ma will return to Bass Hall in Fort Worth on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 for his third appearance in the Cliburn Concerts series. Mr. Ma is one of the most sought-after classical instrumentalists performing today.

He will appear with his frequent collaborator, pianist Kathryn Stott, in a recital program that has been acclaimed around the world. Reviewing the performance at London's Barbican Hall, The Independent wrote "The balance-or you might say focus-pulling-between the two instrumental voices was perfection …with both players finding countless ways of nuancing their sound so as to let the harmony shine through."

Mr. Ma's recording of Songs of Joy & Peace was named Best Classical Crossover Album at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards in January 2010 marking his outstanding 16th GRAMMY Award win. Yo-Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott recently collaborated on Paris: La Belle Époque, adding another SONY release to his discography which includes 75 recordings. The duo previously recorded Soul of the Tango (also a GRAMMY Award winner) and Obrigado Brazil.

In addition to the GRAMMY Awards mentioned above, Yo-Yo Ma has received the Avery Fisher Prize (1978), the Glenn Gould Prize (1999), the National Medal of the Arts (2001), the Dan David Prize (2006), the Sonning Prize (2006), and the World Economic Forum's Crystal Award (2008). In 2002 he was appointed a CultureConnect Ambassador by the United States Department of State, and in 2006 he was selected to be a United Nations Messenger of Peace. Most recently he was named the first Judson and Joyce Green Creative Consultant of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. For more information, visit Yo-YoMa.com.

Kathryn Stott first came to public attention as a prize winner of the 1978 Leeds International Pianoforte Competition in her native England. Her musical curiosity and technical ability has since contributed to her reputation as one of the United Kingdom's finest interpreters of contemporary music. She has given many acclaimed world-premiere performances of works by composers such as Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Michael Nyman. Miss Stott is an active chamber musician with long-standing collaborations with the Belcea, Skampa and Endellion Quartets, the Assad Brothers (guitarists), and Edgar Meyer (bass), as well as with Mr. Ma. In addition to her international performing career, she is Artistic Director of the Manchester Chamber Concerts Society and will become the Guest Artistic Director of the Incontri in Terra di Siena in Tuscany in summer 2010.
